Out of Home advertising is off to a flying start in 2026, with the industry reporting an impressive +15% growth in revenue in Q1 alone.
New figures released by Outsmart, the official trade body for the OOH industry, show brands are continuing to invest heavily in bold, high-impact advertising that gets seen in the real world.
The numbers speak for themselves:
• UK OOH revenue reached £341.2 million in Q1 2026
• Digital Out of Home (DOOH) grew by +17.6% quarter-on-quarter
• Classic OOH formats also saw strong Q1 growth at +10.1%
• Digital now accounts for 67% of all OOH revenue
Rather than just year-on-year growth, these results highlight the momentum OOH is building heading further into 2026. Even with ongoing economic pressures, brands are continuing to prioritise visibility, reach and real-world impact.
Justin Cochrane, Chair of Outsmart, said:
“Despite ongoing macroeconomic challenges, this is an incredibly strong result, demonstrating the confidence brands have in Out of Home.”
And honestly, we get it.
In a world full of scrolling, skipping and blocked ads, OOH continues to cut through. Big screens. Busy locations. Real audiences. No distractions.
At Route Media, we’re seeing more brands lean into digital OOH as a media across our growing network of premium screens throughout Wales – from city centres and roadside locations to retail and transport hubs.
Safe to say, OOH isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
