Cardiff airport is getting ready for the busy summer months with new flights to Paris with Eastern Airways.

Travellers will be able to fly direct from Cardiff to Paris Orly from the 21st of April, adding to the growing list of operating airlines such as Vueling, Ryanair, Qatar Airways, and KLM. During the summer period, TUI have also announced that they will be running 45 flights a week operating on 22 routes.

But it’s not just sunseekers that are interested in airports as Neuro-Insight have been researching the effect airports have on our mindsets. In a recent Airport Mindset Study Neuro-Insight partnered up with JCDecaux and found that we experience a unique neuro-state during our time at airports. Travelers are more receptive to airport advertising because of the uniqueness of the experience and the increased emotional intensity. “emotions run high…Its this heightened emotional intensity that leads to high levels of memory encoding” Matt Kum explains. Memory encoding is how information is stored which later influences our behaviour. This is valuable as 95% of all decision making is subconscious, which relies on memory encoding.

This unique neuro-state that is experienced in airports means advertising can be more effective due to creating meaningful connections with brands during the period of increased memory encoding. It is amplified with campaigns that appear on high quality large formats that prepare the subconscious to be more receptive to smaller format with similar creatives throughout the terminals.

At Cardiff Airport we have a range of options available to advertisers in both digital and static formats. From our large format digital 48 sheet and static 96 sheet outside the main terminal, to inside where we have options in arrivals, departures, baggage reclaim, gates and the waiting areas.
